Material Characteristics
 | 3/16” Hardboard... our most popular and economic material, is 3/16" thick, tempered and tough. It should weather outdoors for 12 to 18 months. We use hardboard, temper it, and then coat the edges and flat surfaces with top quality paints. Over 75% of Dee Sign customers choose hardboard because with all hazards that signs must endure, many are lost, damaged or stolen before they wear out. | |||
| Upgraded materials: Steel, Polyethylene, Aluminum and Reflective Aluminum 24 gauge Steel... should weather 36 months. Zinc coated underneath. Excellent material. Recommended for swinging signs. Will rust if paint and zinc undercoating are damaged. | ||||
| .10 Polyethylene... should weather 36 months. Tough to break. Recommended for hanging signs. Polyethylene bows, sometimes quite a lot. If it will bother you, please choose a different material. We do not want to replace your signs later due to bowing. Also available in .150 thickness, which has the same characteristics. |  | |||

 | .063” Aluminum... should weather 36 months. Extra thick aluminum is extremely rigid. Excellent material. Recommended for swinging signs in windy, wet and salt water areas because it will not rust. NOTE: We do offer .040 Aluminum to compete with local sign shops who frequentlyuse this thickness of product. We believe it is a mistake to expect longevityfrom this product. Our company chooses not to show this product in any of ourliterature as it is thin and will permanently bend in even moderate winds. | |||
| .063” Reflective Aluminum... should weather 36 months. Extra thick aluminum is extremely rigid. Excellent material; Recommended for swinging signs. White areas reflect carlights at night. Will not rust. | ||||
| Corrugated Plastic... should weather 12 months. Very lightweight, tough to tear, but does bend easily along the flutes; somewhat translucent. Recommended only for Open House or Directional signs.Estimates of longevity are based on normal weather conditions in most of the U.S.A. Salt water, chemical air pollution, or other special conditions, will shorten sign life. |  | |||

If you need signs even faster, Dee also offers Rush service. For an added 15% of the order value, we guarantee
to ship your catalog sign order in 8 working days, or we will refund not only the rush fee, but also 5% of the order
value for each day we are late.
Many people pay up to twice as much as the Dee Sign price to buy from a small local shop when they are in a hurry.

Artwork Specifications
1. We work on a Mac platform and would ideally like to have Adobe Illustrator basedfiles. We prefer vectorized
artwork to create signs (spot color) unless thereis a halftone or photo on the panels.
2. ALWAYS convert text over to paths, but if the styles are somewhat unusual, wewill need you to name the style,
and/or include the font with the artwork.Especially if there are multiple names or other information changes.
3. We can accept vector files (text converted to outlines, paths or curves) fromAdobe Illustrator as an .eps
file or EXPORTED from Corel as an AdobeIllustrator file or .eps file.
4. If sending files by e-mail, please save as an editable .eps file. If mailing a disk wecan use an Adobe Illustrator
file. Also, please remember not to embed anythingwithin the artwork; leaving editing capabilities enabled.
5. If you have already created artwork in Photoshop, or another raster-basedapplication, we can accept .jpg, .eps,
.tif, or .gif files, but please be sure that thereis enough resolution on the image, at least 150ppi at actual size.
*Web graphicsare very rarely of sufficient quality for us to download and use for signage.
6. If you have a linked file (a logo or photo, for example) please call us at1.800.333.7446 or email

7. If you are a designer, please indicate the company, address and phone numberfor which you are providing
artwork. Please let us know if we should callthem or wait for them to contact us.

We will recreate your existing sign layout
or design something new, just for you.
Let our artists show you how to update
your sign with a website address, or add
your photo to your main panel or
insert/rider for instant recognition.
An artist, from our in-house computer design team, will
send you a full-sized drawing and coordinated color samples
for your approval before we print your signs.
Once we have your final artwork and order approval, your order will be printed and shipped in 10-15 guaranteed working days, or we pay you!
* A $75 deposit is put down for art creation, but is applied toward the price of your finished sign purchase.
DIGITAL IMAGING ON PANELS
The color images are printed digitally on adhesive backed vinyl and overlaminated to protect against scratching. Click here for a spec sheet, which details how to email or mail us your artwork in a format that we can access. Once we receive your image artwork, we may need to contact you since some color or layout situations can require screen printing entirely. Upon contacting you, one of our dedicated artist’s will recommend the best overall combination of colors, material and pricing. DIGITAL (COLOR) PHOTO RIDERS
The color photos are printed digitally on adhesive backed vinyl and overlaminated to protect against scratching. This 4 color process eliminates variance of color often unavoidable with screen printed photos. If you are emailing a digital picture file, the size should be 4.5" wide by 5.5" high for 6" x 24" riders. Or 5.5" wide by 7.375" high for 8" x 24" riders with a resolution of at least 150 dpi.
