Booked two nights at this park and asked for a pull-through spot. Arrived and checked in - nice guy who guided us to our spot. Sites have shared boxes, but full hookups. Sites are narrow so you may be within 18” of your neighbor’s slide - at least on one side. Sites need more fresh gravel as it was sparse and a bit muddy. Very quiet area next to a large creek, but close to I-40. Bathrooms are single use with toilet and shower - slate floors and walls. Two for women and two for men. Did not use.... Read More

Not exactly sure how this campground is rated so highly by Good Sam!?Positives: Very nice owners - both the lady who took my phone reservation and the gentleman who met me on the porch, handled the paperwork & led us to our site in a golf cart. Very quiet, shaded, with quite a few full-timers.Negatives: sites not numbered, rather muddy due to the dirt roads and sites and the recent rain, 'grass' area was overgrown & weedy. I did not stay overnight just did a drive-thru. I was not overly impressed with this campground. The rv sites are very tight you can share salt with your rv neighbor through the slide-out windows to one another. The park is very crowded. For even the Good Sam cost to stay at this park @ $33 per night, I can find other places with better aesthetics for half that cost.

Stopped at Park Ridge RV Campground for an overnight stay. Lady in the off was extremely nice and very helpful in the check-in process. Park is located in a Pecan Orchard with nice large pecan trees providing plenty of shade. Park has gravel roads and sites that are level and well maintained by the owners. Had been dry so pretty dusty when driving on the roads. 50A, Water, Sewer and Cox cable TV provided. We could tell the owners are working on upgrades throughout the park. Would definitely... There is a small playset, but no rec hall, no pavilion, no outdoor games as listed on the Good SAM website. No clubhouse, no place to play other than small playset--no fields, etc. There is a men's room and ladies room. The laundry room has only 3 washers and 4 dryers. The lady who checked us in was kind and helpful. We have seen her working and construction on a bathhouse, but no other work other than mowing/weed eating. Trash pickup and cleaning are desperately needed. There is much construction equipment, lawn equipment and seemingly abandoned vehicles parked all around, taking up precious space. Too tight on lot spaces and too little room to roam. Our neighbors stay out late drinking. Some campers are exceptionally run down and many have extra tents, etc. near them. There seems to be a mix of those who work all day and others who do not so much (not stay at home parents, just seem not employed). The place is ok but needs cleaning up and restrictions on RV condition/appearance. It is overpriced given the lack of space and cleaning and few amenities (no clubhouse or pool). As I write this, I've been hearing a dog yapping for about an hour. Handing out rules like quiet time, etc. and enforcing them would be a good start for improvement of this RV park. It's fair, but I would not recommend it if there are better options available.

Nice location-but that is all that is nice. Two channels on cable tv. Congested roads-parked cars block exit. Delapidated hookups. Intermittent Internet. The bathrooms are one half of step above an out house...they are filthy, they smell, toilet doors are missing, and they are falling apart. GoodSam, if you read this, take this campground off your list until the bathrooms are brought up to standards - your ratings of this place are a joke.

Worst RV campground ever! Pot holes/dirt roads. Two old filthy showers. WI Fi does NOT work. Sites not even numbered. Can't believe this passed a Good Sam standard. What good is a rating system if we get this crap?

This campground is located under very pretty established pecan trees and has the potential to be a real gem. Unfortunately it looks like it was built 25-30 years ago and the have not repaired, cleaned or updated a thing since. What a shame. We always check Good Sam ratings and this campground had high marks, including a 9 rating for the bathroom/showers. In all our travels this is one of the worst....a 0 or 1 rating would be a fair honest appraisal. The grounds are unkempt and it just looks junkie. For example, they have a covered shelter for campers use and it has a dirty old lawn tractor and dirty trailer parked under it. There is a lot of old equipment and general stuff sitting around....most people would simply describe it as junk. The lady manager was extremely nice and helpful and provided lots of info about things to see and do. However, the check-in office was kind of a messy pit. This place could be beautiful with a lot of attention and cleaning. I would advice that you look at other options and put no trust in the G.S. ratings.....in this case they are totally wrong. I would not use the shower/bathroom under any circ*mstances.Trust me......look at other options.

Men's room lights over washroom sink area were out, toilet was filthy, showers dirty, shower head emitted little water. TV reception poor-very snowy. Inside cover of electrical box not attached to the box. One picnic table for 2 rigs. Heavy equipment around campground did not enhance the entrance. Heavy weeds in flower bed at immediate entrance. Location was excellent-Walmart, Lowes, Advanced Auto, restaurants within 2 mi.

The pecan orchard created a nice setting. However,I felt this was more of a very long term camping park than a travelers park. Many very old campers with lots of "stuff" which was very distracting. The bathrooms really needed attention and the laundry room was hardly usable.I can't see me staying again.

Older park in a nice setting, plenty of shade. Restroom/shower facilities show wear, but clean. Had good voltage on 50A with 2 ACs running. Easy I40 access, close to exit for quick over nights. Very nice owners, will definitely stay again.

The three-number rating that accompanies each campground listing in the directory gives readers an at-a-glance assessment of a campground's amenities, cleanliness and environment. All three ratings categories are measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. Less than 1 percent of parks or campgrounds receive the coveted 10 | 10 | 10 rating, which indicates superior facilities that are well maintained, clean, well-appointed restrooms and a highly appealing appearance. Campgrounds are inspected annually by dedicated RVers like you.
Completeness of facilities
10 10 10
The first campground rating evaluates completeness and quality of facilities. In this category we rate interior roads, sites, registration area, hookups, recreation, swimming, security, laundry, store and building maintenance.
Cleanliness of restrooms and showers
10 10 10
The second rating category concerns the cleanliness and physical characteristics of toilets, walls, showers, sinks/counters/mirrors and floor. If a park achieves a full point in each of the above, it receives a star ( ), indicating exceptionally clean restrooms.
Also rated are physical characteristics of restrooms, including interior construction, adequate supplies/odor free, adequate number of facilities, exterior appearance and location in relation to park spaces, and interior appearance.
Visual appeal and environmental quality
10 10 10
This category addresses the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.
What is being rated?
Facility
The first campground rating evaluates completeness and quality of facilities. In this category we rate interior roads, sites, registration area, hookups, recreation, swimming, security, laundry, store and building maintenance.
Restrooms
The second rating category concerns the cleanliness and physical characteristics of toilets, walls, showers, sinks/counters/mirrors and floor.
